Peeling or exfoliation is the removal of the layer of dead skin or skin with “defects” and then letting the skin renew itself with a new layer (in the same way as other wounds heal). In practice, a layer or various layers of skin are eliminated in a controlled way thus stimulating the formation of new skin with fewer wrinkles and marks and this skin will have a more uniform, pinker colouration with more luminance. In short, a younger looking skin.
Medium peeling or peeling with trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is highly recommended in cases of marks as it improves problems of pigmentation caused by sun damage, removes fine wrinkles, acne scars and rough skin. It also improves the color and general tone of the skin.
What is TCA?
TCA (trichloroacetic acid), is the chosen agent for medium or half-deep peelings. It can penetrate the basal layer of the epidermis, reach the papillary dermis and extend itself to the superior reticular dermis. The concentration and the type of preparation will determine the depth of the peeling.
How will a peeling help me?
The peeling with TCA is used to impulse the production of collagen; improve the problems of pigmentation due to sun damage, dissolution of fine wrinkles, acne scars, and the elimination of superficial roughness.
The treatment lasts just 15 – 20 minutes (per session) for dark skin and the doctor can adjust the profundity depending on the number of sessions.
What does a medium peeling: TCA consist of?

- The Easy TCA® protocol consists of 4 sessions (1 per week) of medium peeling on the facial area.
We have established that this protocol is the safest and most effective than just one session of a deeper peeling although the indication of one or another protocol decided by the doctor depends on each patient. - Easy TCA® consists in a base solution and a post-peeling cream mask.
The base solution contains alpha hydroxy acid, vitamins, antioxidants, saponins, but not TCA: this has to be added to the solution afterwards to activate it. The base solution guarantees a more even and deeper penetration than the active agents, limiting the risks of side effects and allowing the realisation of the peeling on all photo types, without any preparation before the peeling. - Easy TCA® also consists of a post-peeling cream mask (Post Peel Mask®).
The post peeling mask has many properties: it limits drastically the risk of complications, allows a better regeneration of the skin and guarantees a very low possibility of hyper pigmentation through inflammations (as it prevents post peeling inflammation). Therefore allowing faster healing of the skin after the peeling. The post peeling mask contains antioxidants, vitamins A, C, E and H, anti tyrosinase, phytic acid, precursor of the tretinoin, growth factors, essential fatty acids, seleniomethionine, known for its properties which are similar to the tretinoin, dietary elements, etc. It is destined to improve the cutaneous regeneration but also and above all to avoid the inflammation which appears after the peelings.

Peeling can be carried out in particular areas rather than the whole face in general. The most frequent areas are Perioral peeling, which treats the wrinkles around the mouth, or Orbicular peeling which treats the wrinkles around the eyes.
